Milwaukee Jewish Day School is an independent, co-educational school for Jewish children from kindergarten through eighth grade. In the fall of 1981, MJDS opened its doors with 11 kindergarten students. Twenty-five years later, there are nearly 600 alumni who distinguish themselves through their academic achievements and leadership roles in their communities.
We are proud to be Milwaukee's only community day school, affiliated with the prestigious Jewish Community Day School Network - RAVSAK and fully accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS). We embrace children and families from across the spectrum of Jewish observance and are pluralistic and egalitarian in all of our classes and programming. MJDS offers Jewish children an exceptional high school preparatory, Hebrew, and Jewish education as proven by our measures of academic achievement. In addition to Hebrew and Jewish studies classes, students receive comprehensive instruction in all aspects of language arts, science, math, social studies, and physical education. MJDS students are enriched by creative and innovative programming in the visual and performing arts, music, and computer technology.
