Health Curriculum
The health curriculum’s overall goals, developed by a committee of educators and mental health professionals, are to:
• Develop positive self-concepts.
• Foster healthy interpersonal relationships with family and others.
• Learn responsible decision-making.
• Acquire accurate information regarding mental health, physical health, safety, community health, and human growth and development.
A major focus is teaching students why and how to be drug-free. We stress the physical, mental, emotional and legal harm that can result from alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use. We prepare students with the skills, knowledge and confidence to refuse drugs, avoid unhealthy situations and resist negative peer pressure.
