Why choose a Jewish day school?
Jewish day schools offer smaller classes, a low teacher-to-student ratio, and a professional and passionate faculty committed to the needs of the individual child. Jewish day schools not only strengthen children’s connections to Jewish life, but also provide rigorous academic challenges to prepare them for high school, college and beyond.
According to a study conducted by Brandeis University's Cohen Center for Modern Jewish Studies and commissioned by PEJE (Partnership for Excellence in Jewish Education), former Jewish day school students are more resistant to social pressures that lead to binge drinking and other risky behaviors than their public or private school peers. They are more likely to become involved in socially responsible activities, such as community volunteerism and advocacy, than their public and private school peers, and their college GPA’s mirror those of students who attended public or private schools.
Why choose Milwaukee Jewish Day School?
Families choose MJDS because they seek a challenging educational and supportive environment for their children. Our reputation for academic excellence is built upon a superb faculty, a challenging dual curriculum, and small class sizes. Here, children become confident and independent students, learning the skills and Jewish values that will last a lifetime. Our integrated curriculum guides students toward academic excellence, strong critical thinking skills, and pride in their Jewish heritage.
What makes Milwaukee Jewish Day School a “community” Jewish day school?
MJDS was founded with a commitment to educating Jewish children in a pluralistic, co-educational environment. We are a Jewish Community Day School, egalitarian in every way, and a member of RAVSAK, the Community Day School Network. Our student body reflects the diversity of the metro-Milwaukee Jewish community, and our families come from Reform, Conservative, Modern Orthodox, Reconstructionist and unaffiliated homes.
Will my child be academically prepared for high school?
Yes! Our graduates are well prepared for the academic challenges and social experiences of high school. They are active in their schools and are routinely honored with Dean’s List distinctions, National Honor Society membership, and National Merit Scholarship Competition awards. This year, two of the eight students in the state of Wisconsin who received perfect ACT scores were MJDS graduates. We would be pleased to share our alumni information with you upon request.
