~ Perpetuating Endowment Funds at MJDS ~

LIFELONG JEWISH IDENTITY
     At MJDS, students have the opportunity to explore the traditions and values of their Jewish heritage in a setting of celebration and study. MJDS aspires to foster in each child a positive Jewish identity and a love and commitment to God, Israel and the Jewish people.
     The following endowment funds and bequests have been established by our builders -- parents, grandparents and special friends -- to provide the means, year after year, for our children to receive a lifelong foundation in Judaism. 

     Jacob and Ateret Cohn Judaic Enrichment Fund

Supplemental Judaic programming for students, in-service programs for teachers, and development of curriculum materials.

     Colton Charitable Foundation

A fund established to provide tuition relief for middle income families and support for families struggling financially to remain at MJDS. 

     Louise Eder Endowment Fund

An active and involved MJDS grandparent, Louise has provided for a yearly grant to the school to help maintain its tradition of excellence in general and Hebrew-Judaic studies.

     Morris and Olga Eder Endowment Fund

A growing fund established by Eugene Eder to help provide yearly support for enrichment programming, curriculum needs, and special projects.

     Merzy Eisenberg Endowment Fund

Merzy Eisenberg, one of our original teachers at MJDS, established this endowment fund. Proceeds from this fund will be used for special events to enhance teacher education or student programming.

     Larry and Jane Gellman Family Endowment

A growing fund established by the Gellmans in support of the mission of MJDS to provide a lofelong foundation for positive Jewish identity. 

     Lillian P. Heffernan and Eileen A. Perlson Scholarship Fund

An ongoing fund to provide scholarship assistance for families in crisis, helping families above and beyond the community scholarship process. 

     Ruth and Joe Hirschberg Teacher Appreciation Fund

Support for continuing teacher education, special programming to enhance teaching skills, and purchase of classroom materials to assist teachers. 

     Isaac and Eva Hochman Foundation

A generous bequest will provide tuition relief and scholarship support for families who wish to provide their children with a Jewish education. 

     Isaac and Eva Hochman Endowment Fund

Ramie Hochman has established a fund that allows the school to benefit now, as well as in the future. 
An ongoing fund to provide scholarship assistance for families in crisis, helping families above and beyond the community scholarship process. 

   Leo "Sunshine" Hochman Endowment Fund
 

In memory of his late brother, Ramie Hochman has established a fund to support the mission of MJDS in perpetuity.

   Esther and Alvin Kernis Endowment Fund

A fund established by Sam Smargon to provide enrichment books for classroom teachers.

     Michael Kovnar Memorial Special Needs Fund

A fund established by grandparents Eric and Trudy Gidan to provide continuing support for the special needs department at MJDS. 

     Jacqueline Kravit Fund for Reading and Computer Literacy

A family fund in support of the reading and computer programs at MJDS. 

     Reva Loeb Theater Arts Fund

In recognition of their children's education at MJDS, this Loeb family fund will provide theater arts enrichment for Middle School students. 

     Eileen A. Perlson Kindergarten Endowment

The programs and activities provided for our youngest students will be secured in perpetuity by a generous commitment from Eileen A. Perlson. 

     Doris Shneidman CHAI Fund

The strength of MJDS has been its strong faculty. This fund recognizes the talent and skill of staff with annual support for staff compensation. 

     Dr. Nathan and Flora Sonin Educational Endowment Fund

This fund will provide enhancement of academic curriculum.. 

     Stark Family Fund

A family fund established to support the current and future programming needs of MJDS. 

     Barbara Stein

This fund will support the mission of MJDS to provide a quality Judaic and academic experience for our students. 

     Armin K. Taus Scholarship Fund

A one-time college scholarship of $500 to one or more deserving graduates from each MJDS class. 

     Maurice Wolkomir Charitable Lead Trust and Fund

This fund is now providing substantial income for MJDS with unrestricted use, as well as a fund in perpetuity. 

     Bar Mitzvah Year Fund

A growing fund established in honor of the 13th birthday of MJDS, to offset general operating expenses of the school.. 

     Class Funds

Established by the families of each graduating class since 1997 as a lasting legacy for the future.
