Extra-curricular Athletics

The goal of the MJDS After-School Athletic program is to allow all Middle School students to participate equally in a safe, fun environment. We encourage all Middle School students to participate in the North Shore Conference, competing against teams from other area middle schools.

Although winning is one goal, the main focus of athletics at MJDS is to build teamwork and cooperation. No one is cut from any team based on skill, and play time is divided equally among all players. Boys and girls cross country season starts in September and ends in October. The girls basketball season runs from October to December, and the boys basketball season runs from December to February. Boys and girls volleyball takes place in February and March, followed by track and tennis in April and May.

Athletic Code 2011-2012
This code should be read by Middle School students and their parents who wish to participate in MJDS intra-mural sports. The athletic director must have a signed code on file in order for student to participate in games and practices. Families are responsible for paying $50 per sport for up to two sports per child. If your child participates in a third or fourth sport, there will be no additional athletic fee. Contact Christy Horn for further information, (414) 967-8309.
