Hebrew and Jewish Studies are the vital links
to our heritage. Using positive, nurturing, enjoyable,
but serious methods, my goal is to instill a strong
sense of pride in the students’ Jewish identity.
Students need to know where they come from in
order to know where they are going. Our students
are the future of Judaism’s continuity, and this is a major theme throughout my teaching.
Understanding the history of our people, our
connection to the Torah, our holidays,
cultural practices, and a love for Israel are all
components of the Jewish Studies classes I teach.
In Hebrew classes, students learn to enjoy the
language through the use of games and a positive
environment. They learn the connection to our
past as well as to modern Israel.
In June of 2009, I completed 24 years
of teaching at MJDS. I also enjoyed being
an MJDS parent for 10 of those years, as my own children
grew up at the school.
