ADON ROSS'S HOMEPAGE

Welcome to my section of the MJDS Website.  After teaching 37 years in public school, 36 of them in Cedarburg, I am now in my sixth year at MJDS.  If you would like to learn more about me, you can read my 2011 letter of introduction.

Here I am with Gary Schmidt, author of the Newbery Honor Books Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy and The Wednesday Wars, and MJDS's author-in-residence 2011.  In March, we will welcome Bruce Coville, our author-in-residence for 2012.

Visit this area regularly for my weekly lesson plans, explanation sheets, practice tests, assignment handouts, and links to other helpful Websites and my extra credit activities. I cannot, however, include copyrighted materials (like grammar assignments) other than my own.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

"Work extra hard on the beginning of your story, so it snares readers instantly. And know how you're going to end your story before you start writing; without a sense of direction, you can get lost in the middle." (Joan Lowery Nixon, American author 1927-2003) (Only four-time winner of the Mystery Writers of America Edgar Allan Poe Award)

PUN OF THE WEEK

(Feel free to groan!)

Those who get too big for their britches will be exposed in the end.
