WOW!! What a night! Thank you all for attending the MJDS Gala: Pay It Forward, honoring Jodi Habush Sinykin, Dan Sinykin and Hilary Miller. It was a special evening for our school community, raising over $130,000 - and that is before we add the matching funds for new and increased gifts! THANK YOU! This money will ensure that MJDS can fulfill its mission and secure its future. More pictures to come in the coming weeks.

We wish you a happy and healthy new year. May we all be inscribed in the Book of Life, as we go from strength to strength.

Jodi Habush Sinykin and Dan Sinykin

Tikkun Olam Award

Our Tikkun Olam honorees, Jodi and Dan, have had a far reaching impact on our school and our community. As parents, volunteers and donors, they have given their time and expertise to provide leadership in community building, endowment, fundraising and strategic vision. Jodi continues a family legacy of advocacy through her career in law and a deep commitment to social action and philanthropy. Dan, a manufacturer and businessman, makes a real difference in our community by sharing his innovative approaches and dynamic thinking with an array of charitable and professional organizations. Truly this family brings together advocacy, innovation and a shared commitment to community in their efforts to bring quality Jewish education to the next generation of leaders in Milwaukee.

Hilary Miller

Next Generation Award

Our Next Generation honoree, Hilary Miller, an MJDS alumna attending the University of Wisconsin, has led by example since seventh grade. She was the youngest speaker to present at area schools and organizations for the Holocaust Education Resource Center. As a high school student, Hilary was captain of two varsity sports teams, served as Regional President of BBYO and chaired the fundraising committee for Nicolet High School's Britney Gigl Memorial Scholarship Fund, raising a record $21,000.00. Now a freshman in college, she is active in Badgers for Israel, AIPAC and Hillel. Her five trips to Israel and her current studies of the region have increased Hilary’s understanding of the complexity of the Middle East conflict and inspired her to educate and motivate her generation to put their Jewish values to work in our world. Hilary credits MJDS’ small classes for helping her to define her Jewish identity and find her voice.
