Connecting home and school makes us a greater community of learners
As soon as you step into MJDS, you will feel at home. Parents, just like our teachers, staff and students, are an integral part of this vibrant, pluralistic and welcoming community. Parents have multiple options to participate and engage in meaningful ways, from helping for a couple of hours in one event to serving on the Executive Committee of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).
PTO is a volunteer organization comprised of moms, dads, teachers, staff and administrators. PTO develops and maintains participation by parents; supports student and staff needs; and encourages positive communication among parents, teachers and staff. Some PTO activities include PTO coffee programs, Family Fun Day, Ladies Night Out, Men’s Night Out, Mitzvah Day and Spirit Wear Sales.
Being part of PTO is an exciting and rewarding way to stay connected and build life-long friendships with teachers, staff, students and other parents.
