Welcome to MJDS!
Our school is committed to fulfilling our mission to prepare students for success in the world through academic excellence and Jewish values. We accomplish this through the building of a rich, vibrant, and nurturing community. Our core values of wonder, empathy, and tikkun olam are not just taught in the classroom, they live in our hallways, on our playground, and in the lives and families of our students, staff, and faculty.
Academic excellence is our starting point, where we are constantly revising and updating curricula to provide students the tools and skills they will need to continue growing in an ever-changing world. Our remarkable faculty, small class sizes, and commitment to meet the needs of each individual student allows learners to accomplish their goals and prepare them not only for high school, but for a lifetime of learning and growth.
Our Jewish values and commitment to Jewish pluralism match the strong academic character of the school with a commitment to model and live out the beauty and richness of Jewish tradition in its many forms and expressions. Students learn, grow, and develop in a nurturing Jewish environment filled with Torah study, ritual, and a deep sense of community.
At MJDS, we are deeply committed to our local Jewish community and the wider community. As a partner agency of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, we work with all local synagogues and Jewish institutions to bring the richness of our Jewish community to our students and their families. Through our Repairing Together program, our students learn with and about their peers outside of the Jewish community, as we work to make Milwaukee a better place for all its inhabitants.

As the husband of an MJDS alumna and the parent of two MJDS students, this school is an integral part of my family’s life, and I would not want it any other way. Jewish Pluralism

Milwaukee Jewish Day School is a pluralistic Jewish community. Our curricular shorashim (roots) include Jewish text, theology, practice, Israel and memory. We partner with our families, empowering students to develop these Jewish shorashim, nourish their neshamot (souls) and grow into lifelong Jewish learners.

We are rooted in this idea that we learn from others. By exploring the diversity of Jewish tradition, understanding and expression, we better understand our own Judaism. At MJDS, we give students and families the experiences and tools to engage with the world, while creating meaningful Jewish time together.
