Make a Planned Gift

“When we attended parent-teacher conferences, we were struck by how the teachers and staff are so personally and professionally invested in the success of their students. Clearly, they feel it’s their mission to bring out their best in our children. Participating in Create A Jewish Legacy is an opportunity for us to support that mission as a family. It’s a great feeling to support such an exceptional educational institution in our community, both now and in the future.”

-- Sharon and Mike Grinker, MJDS Alumni Parents

Long-term Appreciated Securities

Milwaukee Jewish Day School welcomes gifts of stocks, bonds and mutual funds. A convenient and tax-effective way to donate to MJDS is by transferring long-term appreciated securities.

By transferring long-term appreciated securities instead of donating cash, you can take a tax deduction for the full fair market value of the securities when you donate them. For example, let’s say you paid $2,000 for stock and it is worth $3,000 today. If you transfer the stock to MJDS as a gift, you will receive a tax deduction for the full $3,000. Please consult your tax advisor for the impact on your specific tax situation.

To assist you in the process, we have stock transfer forms available from the major brokerage institutions: Ameritrade, E-Trade, Charles Schwab and Scottrade.

If you are interested in making a stock gift or need additional information or assistance, please contact Development Director Sharon Saxelby, or 414-967-8312, or Business Administrator Christy Horn, or 414-967-8309.
