Dear MJDS Friends,
We love MJDS and belong to MJDS because we want our children to receive and share the joy of an engaged, Jewish life. We believe in the continuity of culture, that we create meaning in life, expand the possibilities for a more just world, and give our kids the best opportunity to become happy, self-fulfilled human beings through a Jewish education.
We both attended Jewish Day Schools in different North American cities, so we were already on board with the value of Jewish education. But once we were here at MJDS, we were blown away by the culture of the school; the way we were asked to imagine school as a learning community where parents, students, teachers, administrators and the community were all involved as stakeholders; the individualized attention for different types of learners; and the focus on student-owned learning in a pluralistic, inclusive and innovative environment.
We love that our school instills Jewish values but we love it even more that the school helps our children to understand the diversity and complexity of Milwaukee and the world. We have never second guessed our choice to send our children to MJDS - we know that the school is supporting them in their journeys to become mensches, good people, as well as brilliant successful citizens.

In celebration of the 36th anniversary of MJDS, we are excited to present MJDS Stories, a series of narratives told in first person by different voices of our MJDS community. Parents, teachers, alumni, alumni-parents, students and friends share how MJDS has made an impact on their children, their Jewish identity and their lives. MJDS Stories deepens the meaning of our mission and amplifies the excitement of our 36 milestone.
